Classification characteristics and application of CZ steel purlin
It is often heard that purlins, C-shaped steel, Z-shaped steel, and CZ-shaped steel are mentioned. In fact, they include C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel, but both C-shaped steel and Z-shaped steel perform better than traditional steel products in practical applications.
The angle of Z-shaped steel and C-shaped steel is different. The C-shaped steel is 90 degrees, while the Z-shaped steel is less than 90 degrees. Therefore, when using purlins on the roof with a certain slope, the angle of purlins should be considered in combination with the stress knowledge. The use of Z-shaped steel with a large slope can make full use of its bending resistance.
Compared with the Z section, the mechanical properties of the strength axes of the C section are quite different, and the connection with the steel frame is mostly bolted hinge, which must be considered as simple support during calculation. Therefore, the latter is more reasonable from the point of view of the stress state, structure, and calculation results. Therefore, the Z section should be preferred in addition to the door and window openings and other special joint treatment needs.
When the roof slope is small, the bending section modulus of Z-shaped steel purlins is slightly larger than that of C-shaped steel purlins, but the difference is small. When the roof slope becomes larger, the utilization ratio of the bending section modulus of Z-shaped purlins symmetrical in the vertical direction becomes larger. Therefore, Z-shaped purlins are suitable for roofs with larger slopes.
